A range of choices for a single person holiday
Feb 10, 2012
Many lone travellers can sometimes be reticent about booking a single person holiday and that can certainly be understandable. The thought of taking a break with a group of people you have never met before can certainly be daunting but this type of holiday has evolved over the years to make it more comfortable and enjoyable than it ever has been before.
It’s important to remember that everyone in your allotted group is booking the same single person holiday and as such they will share your interest in the destination and in any activities that are planned for the duration of your stay. This fact is in stark contrast to the choices that were previously available to solo travellers prior to the rise of singles holidays.
In the past, you may have had to book your holiday as part of a standard package via a recognised tour operator but these may not have been suitable for the lone tourist. As a result, your holiday may have cost more after the application of a single supplement and you may have found yourself alone amongst couples and families once you had reached your destination.
So it’s clear that a single person holiday has many advantages and once you’ve decided that it’s an ideal choice, where should you choose in terms of a destination? The answer to this question will obviously vary, depending on the likes and needs of each traveller but if you’re undecided, popular tourist destinations such as Italy can be a logical choice.
A singles holiday to Italy can make sense for a number of reasons but more than anywhere else in the world, the country has something to offer everyone. If you just want to relax and sit by the pool or the beach, Italy has some wonderful resorts and coastal locations that are backed up by the luxury of glorious weather for much of the year.
Sightseeing here is among the best in the world too and no matter where your single person holiday takes you, you can look forward to some of the most impressive landmarks and monuments on earth. With this in mind you should always look to take advantage of any excursion that your operator has arranged but make sure you look beyond the usual tourist routes and enjoy the best of unspoilt Italy at the same time.
Italy is of course known the world over for its mouth-watering cuisine and it would be a great shame for anyone if they were to miss out on all the wonderful produce here. As well as enjoying the fabulous eateries, you could also look for local food markets and shops in order to sample some of the best delicacies around.
As a lone traveller, you don’t want to lose the opportunity of visiting some of the world’s best tourist destinations and thanks to the rise of the single person holiday, the choice has never been greater. So make your booking with confidence and then just relax and enjoy a truly memorable break.
